ATTENTION EVERYONE BUT ESPECIALLY DMV MEMBERS

The Association of Black Women In Project & Program Management is partnering with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Softchoice to host a Women’s AI Pitch Competition in the DMV, and we’re kicking things off with a Pitch Competition Prep Workshop on Friday, February 27, 2026 designed to help women founders sharpen their pitch, clarify their story, and walk into future pitch competitions (including ours) even more prepared!

The workshop will feature a powerful founder testimonial from Georgina Dukes-Harris, who knows firsthand what it takes to stand out in a pitch competition, along with insights from an incredible panel that blends technical expertise, pitch strategy, and real-world judging experience. There will also be time in the workshop for attendees to develop and practice their elevator pitch!

I’m also grateful for the partners helping make this possible:

Tiffanie Sherrer, MPH, PMP, LSSYB, CHES, ABWIPPM's Board Chair for making this amazing connection

• AWS, for investing in women founders and AI innovation

Softchoice, an AWS Partner, for supporting this work and the broader ecosystem

Morgan State University, for opening their doors and hosting the pitch competition—creating space where innovation, talent, and community intersect

This opportunity is AMAZING, and I am honored to be a part of the planning team. It emphasizes pitching, providing access for the under-represented, preparation, and building confidence before founders ever step on stage.

Attendance at this workshop is encouraged but not required to participate in or attend the Women in AI Pitch Competition. We hope to see you there!
